At EmberHope, caring for others extends far beyond the work we do every day. Recently, employees at our Wichita Administrative Office had the opportunity to make an impact in a different way by participating in our first-ever employee blood drive.

Hosted by EmberHope’s Wellness Committee, the blood drive was created as part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to promoting employee wellness while giving back to the community. The Wellness Committee works to foster a culture of health, connection, and engagement through initiatives that support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our team.

More than 20 EmberHope employees stepped forward to donate blood, helping replenish critically low blood supplies and providing lifesaving support to individuals and families in need. While participation was entirely voluntary, those who were able to donate embraced the opportunity to extend the compassion they show every day in their work with children and families.

“Our first blood drive was a great success with over 20 donors,” said Stephanie Glazier, Talent Acquisition Manager and Wellness Committee member. “With blood donations down and blood supplies at critically low levels both locally and nationwide, the need for donors has never been greater. Every donation has the potential to help save lives.”

Glazier, who also donated during the event, described the atmosphere as one filled with positivity, music, snacks, and a shared sense of purpose as colleagues encouraged one another throughout the day.

“I’m proud of our team for stepping up to support such an important cause,” she said. “I’m already looking forward to hosting another blood drive in the future.”

Whether serving children and families through our programs or supporting the health of our broader community, EmberHope employees continue to demonstrate that even the smallest acts of kindness can create a lasting impact.
