One of the most effective therapies we’ve seen to help our foster children is Expressive Arts. This therapy combines psychology and the creative process to promote emotional growth and healing.
Our Expressive Arts program focuses on visual media through the compelling Walk-A-Mile Exhibit. The artwork represents each artist’s personal experience, trauma, hopes, dreams, and goals. The creation of these pieces gives the artists a productive outlet and a means of self-expression for youth struggling to find their voice.
Step into the life of a foster care child as you encounter their moving stories and witness their hope for the future in this unforgettable exhibit. Walk-A-Mile is not just an exhibition, it’s a transformative experience that will touch your heart and ignite a passion for making a difference.
Don’t miss out on this year’s unforgettable Walk-A-Mile exhibition. Join us at this year’s opening reception of Walk-A-Mile: Past, Present, and Future – A Journey Through the Heart of Foster Care.
Mark Arts galleries are open to the public from 10 am-5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is FREE.
You can also enjoy light refreshments and a silent auction.
Your presence and support of Walk-A-Mile are vital to the success of our Expressive Arts Program. Help us continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment for these talented young artists to heal, express themselves, and let their voices be heard.
If you are not able to attend the reception or exhibition, consider making a gift to further inspire transformation and hope.
We greatly appreciate the commitment our Walk-A-Mile donors make every year. Without them, we would not be able to offer this life-changing program and exhibition.
