Parenting Classes

KansasWashington

EmberHope’s parenting classes serve children and their families. The goal is to increase family bonding and help parents and caregivers provide a healthy physical and emotional environment for their children. By learning appropriate parenting skills and discipline strategies, parents are better able to protect their children, interact with them positively and encourage their growth and development. This better prepares children for school and the experiences of childhood.

Kansas - Parenting the Love and Logic Way

The following classes are currently only offered through our Wichita, Kansas office.

Love allows children to grow through their mistakes. Logic allows them to live with the consequences of their choices. This program, created by Love and Logic Institute for parents with children of all ages, provides practical tools and techniques to help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children and guides parents in preparing their kids for the real world. All of the work is based on a psychologically sound parenting and teaching philosophy called Love and Logic.

Learn how to:

  • Put an end to arguing, back talk and begging
  • Teach responsibility without losing their love
  • Set limits without waging war
  • Avoid power struggles
  • Guide kids to own and solve their problems
  • Teach kids to complete chores without reminders and without pay

For more information about the Love and Logic approach call 800-338-4065 or visit loveandlogic.com. You can also download our printable flyer.

Washingon - The Incredible Years

The following classes are currently only offered through our office in the state of Washington.

The Incredible Years is a comprehensive parenting program designed to prevent, reduce and treat conduct problems among children. It also helps children experience increased parent-child relations, self-esteem and peer relations. This program is successful in part because it is facilitated by parent educators and child development specialists who are well qualified and experienced in child welfare; they have a genuine desire to protect and support children through the education and support of their parents and caregivers. We also utilize volunteers to support facilitators, specifically in the areas of child care and food preparation.

Our staff and volunteers help parents and caregivers achieve a safe, supportive environment with:

  • Improved parent-child relationships
  • Positive parenting skills
  • Knowledge of child development stages and needs
  • Increased use of positive parental discipline
  • Increased knowledge and use of community supports

Visit The Incredible Years website to learn more about this program.
